Chris Landreth: Oscar-Winning Animation Pioneer – Tales from a Groundbreaking Career

CL-Poster-NEW-ENGiacc-DeTao is proud to present Academy Award-winner and animation cult hero, Chris Landreth, one of the world’s most celebrated independent filmmakers, for an evening of insight, inspiration and animated shorts.

Join us at the Shanghai Film Museum where Chris will take us on a weird and wonderful ride through his remarkable 20-year career. Starting out as one of the original developers of Maya, he went on to create a string of trailblazing animated short films, experimenting with styles, tools and subjects never before explored in the medium.  He will talk about his inspiration, how his films were made and his adventures presenting them to audiences around the world.

Finally Chris will discuss what type of mindset, commitment and culture is needed to forge a thriving independent animation scene in China.

The evening will be punctuated by screenings of some of Chris’ best-loved animated shorts on Shanghai Film Museum’s stunning Super HD cinema screen:
