Animation Direction and Visual Effects

“Working in animation is a lot of fun. I enjoy the opportunities afforded by storytelling, using a medium in which you can do anything. The possibilities are endless – it’s amazing that I get to do this as my job.”

Over a prolific 25-year career, Paul Griffin has worked on some of the most celebrated animated cinematic masterpieces of modern times.  His expertise cover the full spectrum of production skills, having seen him employed variously as a director, producer, visual effects supervisor, animation director and animator. He brings a level of experience and expertise that is truly unique in China.

His most notable work includes animating on The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, Fantastic Four, Jurassic Park III and The Mummy Returns.  He provided visual development for King Kong, set up the animation department for District 9, and provided extensive facial animation in the Academy Award winning film, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.  He worked on animation and visual effects for the first two Star Wars prequels and on the cinematic sequences for the game Star Wars: Bounty Hunter. Most recently he helped supervise animation in Happy Feet Two. And now he is directing a new animation feature film  Elliot: The Littlest Reindeer co-produced by Canadian production and sales group Double Dutch and Awesometown Entertainment.
